An in-ground spa is a permanent gunite or concrete shell built into your yard. A portable hot tub is a prefab acrylic shell that sits on a pad and plugs into a circuit. We install in-ground spas only.
In-ground spas last 20 plus years, integrate with pool equipment, and carry NPT surface warranties. Portable units last 8 to 15 years, don't integrate with pool plumbing, and plug in for power.
It's hard to find a company you can fully trust with a permanent backyard install. If you want a built-in spa on Jandy or Pentair controls, we're the right call. For a drop-in portable unit, we're not your installer.

A full in-ground spa install covers six phases. Standalone spa or pool-spa combo, the work stays with our crew start to finish.
Permits and engineering
We pull City of Long Beach permits for structural, electrical, plumbing, and gas. Coastal zone lots trigger extra review. You don't file anything.
Excavation and plumbing
Shell dig, rebar, returns, and jet plumbing. Gas lines for heaters and conduit for automation rough in now, before shotcrete.
Gunite shell and plaster
Pneumatic concrete shell, 28-day cure, then plaster or quartz finish. NPT-backed surfaces carry a lifetime warranty when scoped correctly.
Equipment and automation
Jandy or Pentair pump, heater, filter, and smart controls. One app runs the spa, and the pool too on combo builds.
Startup and walkthrough
We fire the heater, balance chemistry, and walk you through the equipment. Every new spa owner gets a 30 minute Pool School before we close out.

Can I add an in-ground spa to my existing pool?
Yes, in most cases. A spillover spa can be cut into an existing pool shell on compatible builds. Shared filtration is easier when the pool pump and heater have capacity. How long does in-ground spa installation take?
Standalone in-ground spa builds run 6 to 10 weeks from permit approval. Pool-spa combos add 2 to 3 weeks to a standard pool timeline. Shotcrete cures for 28 days regardless, so that phase sets the floor on every schedule.
Should I choose a gas or electric heater for my in-ground spa?
Both work in Long Beach. Gas heats fast but costs more to run year-round. Electric heat pumps cost more up front and heat more slowly, but they run cheaper monthly. California clean-energy rules are also tightening on gas appliances. One reviewer converted from gas to electric on Adam's recommendation. We walk the tradeoff on every install.
Can I control my in-ground spa from a phone app?

Do you install above-ground or portable hot tubs?
No. We install in-ground spas only. Portable units and above-ground hot tubs use different parts, different service models, and different warranty paths. If a portable unit is what you want, a local hot tub retailer is the right call. We're the right call for built-in spa work.
